MOIRA BROWN: PAINTINGS

This piece was my response to current events in the beginning of 2005... which events continued unabated through its completion in early 2007. The text is written in English and Arabic, flowing from panel to panel. On each part the two languages, reading as they do from left to right and right to left respectively, meet in the middle in an eccentric wavering line of peaceful coexistence. The text is a Greek Chorus, or mantra, background context, texture... also a humble reference to the abstracted newsprint in Picasso's Guernica
