MOIRA BROWN: PAINTINGS

She is the child of my cousin, and I attended her birth. In 1988 Risa was six. I took photos from which to paint her and couldn't choose... she is all these forms. (In this case the shadows are herself.)

The three dots far out in the water are her parents and myself. On that day Risa's mother saved me from drowning when I was caught in the undertow.
